Bridge Over Troubled Water

It seems like I'm putting a few too many pictures of the park at Amberglen up for display. This is a view of the pond looking back towards the walk bridge over it. It was only slightly calm, so not a full reflection of the brdige in the water.

Back at the barn - Horse Faces

I returned to the barn this weekend to take more pictures, I'm starting to get used to being around horses now and even got to ride one. Spice, pictured above, seems to get hot very quickly when running the area. I managed to catch her with her tongue out. Again, this is the perspective taken on the day, no post cropping.

Fire Hydrant

I know they were designed to stand out from the background, there is just something about them that makes me want to photograph them. Probably because they're aren't common place in England.

A Duck Walking in the Sun, after a Swim

Again, at the park at Amberglen in Beaverton. This duck had been shaking himself dry after getting out of the pond.

Curious Swan

A swan in the park across from my office, on a lunchtime walk. It's just about getting ready to extend its wings and dry off after getting out of the pond

Sailing on the Willamette

People were flocking to the Willamette river in Portland on a warm 90 degree weather.

The Circle of stairs

This picture was taken in Rome, whilst I was hanging over a rail to look down on the staircase. I love the multiple layers of stairs as they spin down to the bottom.

Horse running around the area throwing up dust

I specifically took this perspective of the horse in camera, croping off the top half of the body. I was trying to get a different take and focus attention on the dust being thown up in the area. Perhaps nexttime I'll frame the full picture to see what it looks like...stay tuned :-)

Water drops dripping from a plant branch

This picture was taken in my garden, again...I know, after running the sprinkler. Again, I used the macro setting to try and catpure some of the water drops.

Dandelion against the sky

I love the delecate look of dandelions, just waiting for the wind to blow them. This is the same dandelion as yesterday, although this time I picked it and held it to the horizon to get a cool background.

Dandelion Marco

A macro photo of a Dandelion in a field.

Water drops clinging to a web

After watering the garden, I noticed that spiders had been at work laying nice webs across the grass baldes, which are in desperate need of cutting. Anyway, the water was resting nicely on them so I decided to take a few snaps.

Field Cart out in the sun

I saw this cart sitting in a field as the sun was beating down. The wheels reminded me of a bike from the 60's and the fence behind made a nice background, so I crouched down to snap this picture quickly.

4th July Fireworks

A firework being released to celebrate American Independence Day on the 4th July.

Friends Celebrating American Independence Day

A group of friends letting off fireworks for their 4th of July celebrations. I loved the way the haze was creating a nice pattern under the streetlamp.

Bales ready for collection

Hay bales packaged up and waiting collection in a field, with the background looking back towards Portland.

Barbed wire fence

Barbed wire seperating land. The single strand wouldn't be too useful!

Beautiful Horse

This horse was very inquisitive, when visiting the barn today. His eyes caught my attention immediately

The First Thursday of each month, the Pearl District Streets and Art Galleries become packed with people as the decend to drink some wine and view local art.

Backlit Grass in an untidy field

The field was glowing gloden as the sun began to set, casting a nice backlight on the grass
